To start off your music making career you do not need any expensive equipment or instruments. Curse anyone who says you do. Nowadays there are many simple and easy to use "music makers". You need not spend anymore than £30 for piece of softare that will give you all that you need for getting started. You can also get free pieces of software from magazine CDs. Check out the read section for details.

My advice to you is to get a simple drag 'n' drop piece of software to start with. You will also get a sample CD with this so don't panic. You can also get extra sample CDs with specific genres on them. You do not need to know a note of music to use these programs. If it sounds good to you then it is good!

There are many good quality programs in the shops and I advise, for your starting one to get one of the following:

Magix Music Maker
Dance Ejay 2 (or other EJay programs depending on your music tastes) or www.ejay.com
Any other ideas welcome!

All of the above programs give you sample CDs and also offer other sample CDs too.

Once you've got to grips with one of these programs you can start getting abit more technical. However, this requires about more technical knowledge, technology, and musical knowledge. However, this is pretty easy to pick up and before long you could be the envy of your mates as your song hits the number 1 spot!

But to get started all you need is:

PC/Mac with soundcard and all the other usual peripherals.
Drag 'n' Drop Software
Samples
and a good ear for good music. (You already have this if you like my songs)
